JUDGES CRITERIA

Please see the below criteria for the judges is you would like to apply please fill in the application and return to our Secretary.

Please Note: Where if is felt that an applicant would be an asset to one of the Judges List's of the Club the Judges Sub- Committee may, at its discretion, include the name of the applicant on the relevant List.

A LIST

1. A1 List: For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award Challenge Certificates in the breed and have the support of the Parson Russell Terrier Club.

2. A2 List: For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 List, who have been assessed in accordance with the Kennel Club requirements, accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 List and have the support of the Parson Russell Terrier Club.


3. A3 List: Requirements for Breed Specialists
3.1 Judging Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of SEVEN YEARS regular Judging experience.
3.2 Seminars:

          3.2.1 Candidates must have attended ONE breed specific seminar the subject of which was the Parson Russell Terrier (Club Rule)
          3.2.2 Candidates must have attended a breed specific judging seminar held by the Parson Russell Terrier Club in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Practice and passed an examination and assessment.
          3.2.3 Candidates must have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant examination on KC Regulations and Judging Procedures.
          3.2.4 Candidates must have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.
          3.2.5 Candidates must have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on Points of the dog and passed the assessment (KC policy from 01.07.05)

3.3 Shows Judged: Candidates should have judged ONE Parson Russell Terrier Club Show or judged at a minimum of TWO Championship Shows with classes for the breed, without Challenge Certificates, having a combined minimum total of THIRTY dogs judged at those shows.

3.4 Classes Judged: Candidates should have judged THIRTY classes in the breed. Note: Special consideration will be given by the Judges' Sub-Committee, to those classes at Primary Terrier Shows and Supported Entry Shows.

3.5 Dogs Judged: Candidates should have judged a minimum of FIFTY Parson Russell Terriers.

3.6 Stewarding: Candidates should have stewarded at TWELVE SHOWS (KC Policy).

3.7 Candidates must have demonstrated successful showing experience and/or breeding programme. Save in exceptional circumstances, any first time Candidate is expected to have been an owner or breeder of at least three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Stud Book.


3.8 A3 List: Requirements for Non Breed Specialists

3.8.1 The same minimum criteria will apply. The Judges' Sub-Committee will take into consideration a non-specialist's experience within other breeds.

3.8.2 Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in this breed) and to have the support of the Parson Russell Terrier Club (KC Policy)
3.8.3 To have judged FIFTY dogs in this breed. (KC Policy)
3.8.4 To award Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed. (Preferably a terrier breed)

B LIST

4. B List: Requirements for Breed Specialists
4.1 Interest in the Breed. Candidates must have been actively involved in the breed for a minimum of FOUR YEARS.

4.2 Seminars:

          1) Candidates must have attended ONE breed specific judging seminar.

          2) Candidates must have attended a seminar given by a KC Accredited Trainer on Hands-on assessment.

4.3 Number of Shows Judged. Candidates must have judged the breed in at least THREE OPEN Shows.

4.4 Number of Classes Judged. Candidates should have judged a minimum of EIGHT Classes in the breed.

4.5 Number of Dogs Judged. Candidates should have judged a minimum of FIFTEEN  Parson Russell Terriers.

4.6 B List: Requirements for Non-Breed Specialists.
4.6.1 Candidates must comply with the above requirements (4.2 to 4.4).

4.6.2 Candidates should have judged a minimum of TWENTY Parson Russell Terriers.

4.6.3 Candidates must have had at least FOUR YEARS involvement with their own breed.

4.6.4 Candidates must be on the A or B Lists of their own breed.

C LIST

5. C List:
5.1 Interest in the Breed. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have had an interest in the breed for a minimum of THREE YEARS.

5.2 Seminars. Candidates must have attended ONE breed specific judging seminar.
